Rouen, often called the city of a hundred spires, is famous for its stunning Notre-Dame Cathedral, immortalized by Claude Monet. It boasts medieval half-timbered houses and bares traces in its street names of the martyrdom of Joan of Arc that took place there in 1431. Visitors can stroll along the cobbled streets of the old town, admire the Gros Horloge (a Renaissance clock tower), explore museums, and enjoy authentic Norman gastronomy in France’s oldest inn, La Couronne
